Zana: Sometimes you need to go backwards in order to go forward…
Zane calmly rows to the edge of the river. They approach the mountainside, where they meet the margin of the rocky wall and its ENTRANCE.
Arrived at the mountainside, with his paddle, Zane holds the boat steady. The younglings start to get out.
Zane: Come on! All out! You too, caveman!
Dylan scowls at Zane. Zane smiles back with a malicious-friendly face just to tease the youngling. The adult WhiteCircle then, pushes, with his paddle, the boat away from the mountainside. He leaves the place, clearing the spot for the others boats to come.
Boats come and go. All twelve, phase-1 trainees, are at the entrance. They cannot go back. There are no boats.
Gracia: Now what?
Dimia: Let’s enter the cave!
Vero takes the first step in the cave. The boy’s shadow slowly starts to disappear into the surrounding darkness. An impenetrable chilling blackness welcomes the younglings.
Vero: I cannot see anything!
Suddenly a vivid bright light appears from his back. Vero turns to see what it is. He sees Dylan has his vambrace all lighten up with white light!
Vero: How did you do that?
Dylan: Search the vambraces’ options…there should be a torch one…
Dylan takes the lead. He lights the path with the vambrace. The rest start to activate their lanterns from their vambraces. The cave is big in height and length. It is dark and dank with different directions they can walk on. The only sound they hear is from a falling waterfall. The sound is weak and hard to trace because of all the echoes in the cave. It does not look habitable.
As they continue walking forward, Dimia sees a dim light from a small opening to her left.
Dimia: Hey… that light isn’t from our vambrace…
Gracia: What light?
Dimia: Close your lanterns!
Dylan: No way! I prefer to see what eats me!
Dimia: … okay, just move them away from here!
