Farewell

Deep blue sky above! Puffy clouds drift slowly. So much calmness, greenery and fresh air! All troubles and worries are not here. Total relaxation! Great time to be a tree!

Or maybe not.

Below the clouds, a small bird with a strong beak and stiff tail explores the trees in search for insects. In its way, it finds one to inspect. The woodpecker sees an unusual bulge in the trunk of a particular tree. There must be a nest of insects – it thinks! With its bill, it starts drilling. Drumming on the bulge, it realizes! MORE effort must be put! Drum, drum and drum… until…

SUCCESS! The bulge has been ripped.

And the hammock falls.

Along with Azur!

Panic wakes the boy! He falls and does not know what to do! Azur agitatedly moves his arms trying to grab something. Anything that could stop the fall! The boy sees how he is being pushed away from the sky! The trees are getting taller and faster!

Nickalen catches him!

The GreenCircle was already down, and by Azur’s luck, Nickalen was near!

      Nickalen: Come on!

The GreenCircle puts the boy down.

Nickalen: It’s morning. Even your platypus is up!

Azur breathes heavily. He gazes around! The boy sees the grassland with many rocks to his side; the trees where they slept above; and his faithful platypus below. Platon gazes at Azur with confusion in its eyes. The boy realizes he is not dead!

Azur: Thank you, Master! What happened?

Nickalen: Wolves. Now, let’s move on…
